Fifty one cases of influenza A(H1N1)v have been confirmed in Iceland
Within the last 48 hours five additional cases of influenza A(H1N1)v have been confirmed in Iceland. The total number of cases confirmed is therefore 51. The five new cases were all males, aged 11-59 years. Four of the cases are Icelandic, one with origin of infection in Sweden (Gothia cup, a large international soccer event), one with origin of infection in UK and two cases are probably domestically acquired. The fifth case was a French teenager who participated in a large international scout conference in Iceland.
None of these 5 cases had serious illness.
